Assessor
Oversees identifying, inventorying, determining market values and calculating assessed valuation for all Township properties in accordance with the State Tax Commission regulations, methods, and procedures to ensure fair and equitable assessments.

Board of Review
A Board of Review is not the assessor, and the assessor is not the Board of Review. Every citizen who appears before the Board of Review is in fact challenging a decision of the assessor and it is the Board of Review’s responsibility to make an independent judgment based on the facts and on law.

Planning Commission
Developing, adopting, and overseeing the implementation of the Township’s Master Plan. Monitoring the effectiveness of the Zoning Ordinance and recommending Ordinance revisions and amendments to the Township Board where necessary.

Zoning
The Zoning Ordinance is designed to protect the owners and/or occupants of property in Milton Township; allow them to enjoy freedom from incompatible uses in their neighborhoods; assure that homes and businesses are safe and that natural resources are not abused.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The function of the ZBA is to be a quasi-judicial body, to carry out two principal functions. To hear and decide appeals of administrative decisions made in implementing the zoning ordinance; and to hear and decide requests for variances from the strict terms of the zoning ordinance. In addition, the ZBA is occasionally called upon to interpret the provisions of the zoning ordinance.
