The current township clerk is not seeking re-election this year. If anyone is interested in running for this elected position, please reach out to the clerk for paperwork at clerk@miltontwpmi.gov. Once you have the required three signatures on the petition and the other paperwork filled out you need to return it to the clerk by April 22, 2024.
To qualify to run you must be at least 18 years of age and registered to vote and a resident of the township for at least 30 days before the date you file to run for township office.
I want to warn you ahead of time. In my opinion the Clerk position is the hardest position on the board. It can be equivalent to a part time job requiring at times a minimum of 20 hours a week. Especially during elections. For more information about running for office please check out Michigan Township Association – Running For Office.
